WINNERSUMBIRI KNITTING (WSK) is part of the Indonesian Sumbiri Group which was established in 1973. The vertically integrated Group includes the manufacturing companies Sumber Bintang Rejeki located in Java, and Mingala and Migalar Sumbiri Garment in Jakarta. The Group is also part of the joint venture Stretchline (600 employees, 15 metres of elastics produced monthly), Matsuoka Winner Industry (1,500 employees, 2 million articles of men’s intimates produced monthly for Uniglo), and MAS Sumbiri Co Ltd (1,500 employees, 1.5 million bras and briefs produced monthly for Victoria’s Secret).
WSK, which was founded in 2001, specialises in circular and warp knits. The company has a workforce of 600 and turns out 1.2 million metres of stretch and rigid knits for lingerie and swimwear, yogawear and activewear, and shapewear and men’s intimates. The wide range of fabrics includes satin nets, shiny satin knits, satinettes, simplex knits, and Powernets. The factory is equipped with the latest generation Karl Mayer machines: 55 flat knitting machines and 16 circular knitting machines. WSK gives clients a wide choice of details, dyeing possibilities, and finishings (silky touch, glitter, and more).
The company is committed to quality and innovation. Among the company’s strengths are new ranges with Lycra FitSense and Lycra Hybrid, new breathable thermo-regulating knits, a new permanent rubber-effect finishing, and an ultra-fine, silky double knit that’s technical and perfect for shapewear. The environmentally responsible WSK is Green Company certified. The offer includes knits made with recycled fibres, and the company treats 70 percent of wastewater which then returns to the manufacturing cycle. Care is also taken to limit polluting substances in the air and water.
Clients include PVH (Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein), Wacoal, Spanx, Warnaco, Maidenform, Vera Wang, and Wonderbra, as well as C&A, H&M, and Target.
